“I’m amazed at how much my child blossomed in the Lion program. I had such a great time seeing him learn and grow. It was fun to do things together, but also let him try new things on his own. It was definitely worth our time this year.” - Claire R.

LION Program FAQs 2019/2020 OVERVIEW

Q: What exactly is the Lion program ?

A: The Lion program officially  new  to the  Boy Scouts of America program in 2017. The program is designed to introduce kindergarten-age kids and their families to the fun of Scouting.

 Q: Who are Lions?

A: The kindergarten-age kids participating are called Lions. Lions must be 5 years old by December 31 to participate.

Q: What is a Lion den?

A: A Lion den is a group of usually six to eight kindergarten-age kids who meet together to participate in the Lion program with their adult partners. Lions is not a sibling only program—we want to spread this new opportunity far and wide for other kids to join. It’s also a chance to create memories that will last a lifetime, and build a stronger family while you enjoy the Scouting program with other families.
